The CaseCrown Bold Standby Case (Red) for Amazon Kindle Fire Tablet turned out to be a disappointment. While, in the photo, the leather looks nubby like the lighted Kindle Keyboard cover, it's a poor imitation. The entire case feels thin and flimsy like covered cardboard and the leather is nearly smooth with an odd fuzzy feel to it. It has a bit of a smell, too, sort of like new shoes but not nearly as pleasant.
I think the design is good but the execution is poor. The Fire doesn't fit all the way in the slip case, or maybe takes more force than I felt comfortable with, so that the front cover doesn't lay flat when it's closed. That, in turn, causes the magnet that's supposed to hold it closed not to function very well. When folded back to form a stand, you have to be very careful how you slip the cover into the holder in the back or the Kindle falls right over backwards.
I ordered a red cover and a purple one. So far, I've only received the red and I have to say, the color is nice. However, the suede (or suede like material) on the inside isn't the same red...not even close. This is purely aesthetics, I know, but still...
Now having said all this, in fairness I have to say the CaseCrown cover does what it's advertised to do which is why I've given it three stars instead of the two I originally intended. It will protect your Fire to a certain degree and with some finagling with the cover and the tab on the back, will form a stand that tenuously holds the Kindle in horizontal position. It won't look or feel fantastic while doing those things but if you aren't particularly fussy and don't want to spend a lot of money, this could be the case for you.

Awesome. Very nice case for a very nice price. Good quality leather. Sturdy, nice tab on back for standup use. Would buy another one if I buy another kindle fire.

This was one of the covers I considered for my Kindle Fire, because I liked the fact it holds my device in a "pocket" and not just by the corners. Psychologically, it just makes me feel my KF is more secure.
I ultimately chose this one because it was good price, and I was very pleased with it when it arrived. My KF fit perfectly in the case, and I like that it's nice and snug. I made sure to pull the velcro flap taut before wrapping it around the Kindle and securing it to the case, so that makes me feel even safer. Also, making sure that the device is all the way inside the case and snug ensures that the cover will close over it perfectly. The magnet underneath the cover also helps it stay closed even when lying flat. The case leaves the speakers at the top nice and exposed and buttons and port at the bottom 'easily accessible.
I also chose this cover because I thought the texture of it most closely matched the lighted cover I have for my Kindle 3rd gen. Looking at them side by side now, they do look similar, but the lighted cover texture is "bumpier" and better made while the CaseCrown has a "flatter" texture and the material is not as high quality, but for the price I paid it is as I expected.
As another test, I tried to stand the KF in the case like they showed on the picture, and found that it does take some bending and wedging until the set up is steady enough to stand on its own. I suspect I still need to break in the material a little, as right now it is brand new and still a bit stiff. I may update in the future once I get more time with it. But basically, for the price I paid I am very happy with this case.
